What? Do you want to get up early in the morning and you don’t have any other device except a Windows laptop?
Cool. It’s more than enough. Follow this guide to know how your laptop will do the job of a mobile or timepiece on these occasions.
Creating an alarm in Windows 10
Setting alarms in a Windows PC is very easy.
1. Type ‘Alarms’ in the search box that appears on the left side of your taskbar.
2. Choose ‘Alarms & Clock’ to open. Now you will get the following screen,
By default, Good morning alarm is turned off. Drag the toggle button to the right to enable the alarm. Click the ‘+” icon on the bottom to create a new alarm.
3. Choose the time for your new alarm, configure other options like ringtone, repeats, and snooze time. Don’t forget to click the save button to save changes.
The new alarm will appear on the home screen of the app. You can click the alarm name anytime to edit its settings and adjust the time.
Deleting an alarm in Windows 10
1. Go to your alarms screen and click the ‘Select alarms’ icon on the bottom.
2. Select an alarm that you want to delete using the tick mark.
Click the delete option on the bottom to remove. That’s it. The chosen alarm is deleted successfully.
Alarms and timers will work even if the app is closed or the device is locked. But the PC should not be in a sleep mode. The alarm screen here clearly says that ‘ Notifications will only show if the PC is awake’. Otherwise, it won’t work and you will miss the alarm.
Open sleep settings of your computer (Tap gear icon on the Start menu for Settings > System >Power & Sleep),
Set ‘When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after’ option to Never. Connect your computer to a power source until the alarm time and make sure it’s charging.
Creating timers in Windows 10
The ‘Alarms & Clock’ app combines alarm, world clock, timer, and stopwatch. Switch to the ‘Timer’ tab to turn on and use the feature.
It will open with a default timer. Click the play button to start the timer, reset button to reset the time to the normal status, and expand button to open it in the full screen.
Tap the ‘+’ icon on the bottom to create a new timer and select icon to select & delete timers already created. unlike alarms, one more option is available here. ‘Pin’. It lets you pin the timer tile to the Start. So you can quickly access the tool from the Start menu of the device.
Creating stopwatches in Windows 10
The stopwatch is another useful feature of Windows 10. Click Stopwatch tab on the top and you will see a screen like this,
You can’t create multiple stopwatches. Click the play button to start the watch, flag button to record laps, and expand button to view it in a full screen.
When finished, click the reset button to reset the watch to the normal stage.
