How to Schedule and Post on Instagram from Computer?
Canva is a great tool to schedule Instagram stories, photos, and videos from a computer or a mobile. They have dedicated apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android to work smoothly even on the go.
Their thousands of thousands of social media templates simplify the process and save tons of your designing hours. As you know, social media plays a vital role in traffic generation. Hence, we can say that Canva is an essential tool for businesses to create beautiful graphics and share them on social sites during peak times. This way, it helps you to drive massive traffic to your pages and boost sales.
Step 1: Create a eye-catchy design
Sign in to Canva and choose a design type from the main screen. For Instagram, choose Instagram post or story. It will direct you to a blank editor where you can select appropriate templates to build designs.
Alternatively, you can click on Create a design button to start. It will suggest popular design types in the drop-down menu to create. Enter a keyword like Facebook, Instagram to view relevant template types.
Choose an option. For instance, I selected Instagram Story to proceed.
Step 2: Choose a template
A blank screen will open in the recommended size. For Instagram stories, 1080 x 1920 px is the recommended size to boost visibility and get more user clicks.
On the left side, you will see various templates in different categories. Canva’s premium users can access all templates for free. Click a template to import it to your main screen to edit.
Step 3: Customize
Now the selected template is successfully imported to the editor. Click an element to customize, replace, or delete.
Canva is packed with hundreds of free and premium fonts. Change font family, color, and apply effects to texts. It is also possible to animate texts and pages to grab user attention in the very first sight.
On the left pane, there are options to access various elements and upload your own files.
Elements- Frequently used resuources like shapes, charts, grids, frames, and others.
Photos- Free and premium stock photos
Text- Text profiles
Styles- Brand Kit to apply unique colors and fonts to your designs
Audio- Audio files in various genres
Videos- Free and premium stock videos
Background- Landscapes, patterns, gradients, and many other image types as background

Canva has a built-in image editor to remove background, apply filters, and create mockups. Choose your image and click on edit from the main menu. It will show editing options and ready-to-use image templates on the left side. Choose one of them to apply. Edit as you need.
For animations, click on Animate to view various graphic effects. Mouse over an effect to preview and select to apply.
Adjust opacity, change positions, and group similar elements from the top-right corner. Grouping helps you to combine multiple elements and move them through the editor easily.
Step 4: Schedule
Once you finished customization, tap the three-dots button from the top-right corner.
Choose Schedule from the menu options. Set a date and time. Go to the next step.
Click on Select a channel drop-down box to view your connected social media accounts. If you want to schedule the content on a new channel, choose Select a channel and connect profiles, pages, or groups. Then, enter a custom description in the text area.
Add relevant hashtags to target people having specific interests. Click on Schedule to save.
Canva will share your post on Instagram at the selected time. But keep in mind that this auto-scheduler will work with Instagram business accounts only. It is not possible to schedule content on personal accounts.
Don’t worry. You can convert a personal account to business easily through account settings. For that, open Instagram from a smartphone and open settings. On the bottom, it will show an option to convert your current personal account to business. Then, connect it to your Facebook page to schedule content on Instagram with Canva.
Let us go back to the Canva editor. Canva allows you to resize the same design for other networks easily. This feature is exclusively available for premium users and saves your time.
Click the Resize option from the top-left side and enter a keyword like ‘Facebook’ to get suggestions.
Select one of the options and hit the copy & resize button. It will copy and serve same content in a new screen. Customize it to increase or decrease height, width, etc.
Again, tap the three-dots button to schedule. Repeat this step for all your social media channels to schedule and publish. If you want to publish the content instantly, don’t choose the schedule option. Instead, click on relevant channel icons to share.
Go back to the Home screen and visit Content Planner from the left pane to manage schedules. From there, you can customize posts, change schedule, and even re-schedule an old post.

Agorapulse is one of the best marketing tools to automate promotions on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram. It is best for all business types to schedule and recycle content on profiles, pages, groups, etc.
