How to Apply Lock Screen and Customized Themes in Windows 10

When talking about Windows 10 systems, there is no exception. Microsoft allows you to customize the appearance of your screen in several ways. Change the background type, start menu color, lock screen, themes- everything is possible through its easy to follow settings.

In this post, we’ll tell you how to set customized themes and a unique lock screen on your Windows 10 PC.

Discover and apply themes in Windows 10

A computer’s appearance will change based on the themes applied. It affects your background image, status bar color, start menu color, etc.

To apply a theme or change the existing one, open your Windows settings first. Tap the Settings icon from the Start menu or type settings in the taskbar search box.

Choose Personalization to get relevant settings. Click Themes from the left pane. You will see theme-related settings and available themes in the right pane. If you are not satisfied with the existing themes, click the Windows Store link to download more themes.

Click a theme to quickly apply it to your computer. Windows will highlight your active theme on the top side where you can customize it further. Click Background to change theme’s background type and image, Color to change color types and default app mode, Sounds to configure various sound types, and Mouse cursor to customize the mouse pointer. Save theme to apply your changes.

Apply a personalized lock screen in Windows 10

Click the Lock screen from the same Personalization menu.

Set a background type and image. Hit Browse button to explore your local media library. Choose your image and check the preview to know how it looks like.

Scroll down to the bottom to authorize Windows and Cortana to show tips, facts on your lock screen.

Choose your lock screen apps to show status even when the device is locked.

You will see some relevant links at the bottom. If you are a Cortana user and want to get its tips on the lock screen, open Cortana lock screen settings. Make sure that you have enabled the lock screen feature for Cortana.

That’s it.

Restart the computer to view your new lock screen.
